Power Bill Relief Committee

Consultation has concluded

With power prices set to rise from 1 July 2017, we are inviting members of the community to join us as we explore ways Randwick Council can provide power bill relief for our residents and businesses.

To do this, Council is forming a Power Bill Relief Committee, an advisory body which will consider a range of initiatives Council can implement including partnerships with community cooperatives, other councils or emerging solar and wind farms.

The committee will consist of a Randwick City Council delegate, two Councillors and four residents or local business representatives.

If you are passionate about helping cut power bills and believe you can contribute positively to the committee, please use the form below to submit your Expression of Interest (EOI).

To be considered as one of the four resident or business interest committee members, you need to:

  • live within Randwick City or own, lease or work in a business located within Randwick City
  • be available to attend business hours meetings and undertake additional work or community discussions as the need arises
  • demonstrate a commitment to giving Council objective and constructive feedback on opportunities for Council involvement in power bill relief initiatives
  • not have a conflict of interest where you could be influenced by a private interest when carrying out your public duty
  • have relevant experience working with community organisations
  • be able to work cooperatively with others of different opinions and backgrounds

Please read the Terms of Reference for more information.

Expression of Interest close 19 July 2017.
